Details of Gerome Anderson

Gerome Anderson is a senior initiated Spinifex man from the Great Victoria Desert in WA. Gerome was born at a soak called Ilbilli. Ilbilli is in the north of Spinifex country, an area of huge sandhills where permanent water can be found.
Gerome was the first to meet up with an American missionary from the USA who set up Cundeelee Mission to the east of Kalgoorlie where the majority of the Spinifex mob lived intermittently for twenty years before relocating back into country. The British had begun nuclear testing at Maralinga and Gerome's relatives were moving west due to the 'huge black cloud'. Gerome later made several rescue trips back into Spinifex country from the mission to find relatives also suffering from drought conditions. Gerome helped establish the communities of Tjuntjuntjara and Ilkurlka where he lives with his family.
