Details of Marlene Juli

About

Marlene has been painting at the Warmun Art Centre since 1999.
Marlene was taught to paint by her mother, well known Warmun Artist, Mabel Juli. Marlene paints many of the stories and landscapes of her maternal grandfather's country- Springvale Station ( south west of the Warmun community)
As a young person who has not lived in her family's traditional lands, Marlene has a strong knowledge of the Ngarrangkarno ( Dreaming ) stories of her grandfather country. This is because she has visited her family's country with her mother Mabel, where she has been shown significant dreaming places and told the stories of her family's country.
Marlene's style is intricate and precise intricate with detailed patterning and dotting in her work. Marlene has just recently returned to painting after having her second child.
