This place bears the same name as Tommy's grandfather - "Wungkul". This is Tommy's grandfathers bush name. His gadiya (white fella) name was Paddy Carroll. paddy taught Tommy a whole lot of bush skills, lots more than his own father. Nganjiwarr is Paddy Carroolls country. Nganjiwarr Country extends north of Doon doon. Nganjiwarr is the name of the Ngarrangkarni (Dreaming) snake who created this country. This painting shows large rocks with caves in them. "You can go to these caves and walk straight into them, you don't have to climb up to go inside. Not far from this place is a waterhole called Tommy Spring. Tommy was named after this waterhole.
