About Tingari Cycle
Pauline is the daughter of famous balgo painters, Sunfly Tjampitjin and Bai Bai Napangardi from whom she has inherited many Tjukurrpa (Dreamtime) stories. She has exhibited both within Australia and internationally. This painting depicts the Tingari people travelling. Tingari are the group of ancestral beings who bought law and culture to the peoples of the eastern desert area. As they travelled everywhere, from place to place they named everything and bought law for the people and made the waterholes.
Painted in 2003.
