About Ngarrgooroon Country
Ngarrgooroon is Hector's mother's and grandmother's country. Hector often says "...when you look at this country any way, you can see that hill oer there. " In this painting there are three ranges. The first hill at the base of the painting is surrounded by flat ground. When you climb this hill Hector says' there is a flat ground on top." From here you can see the next hill and from that hill the next. "This is where I come from, all this country."
