About Oongoorloo (milky way)
According to Bardi culture the milky way is referred to as emu - inyniyny - because it is shaped like an emu. One end has a neck and a head with a bright star that looks like an eye. This Ilma shows the milky way. The inside part shows the clearance in the middle, where there are no stars. The bottom side is the tail end of the emu and the top side is the neck .
