About Flower (Framed)
Ilma is a term that references open ceremonies performed by the Bardi people and the objects used in these ceremonies. The Bardi's country is situation north of Broome on the dampier Peninsula, Western Australia. Ilma ceromonies are composed and owned by individuals. These men are said to have received the songs, and the form of the dances from rai spirits of dead men. This ilma is a type of flower that grows near One Arm Point. When Roy had his first vision's of his father he was walking through a group of these flowers. His father came to him and bought him an ilma connected to this original vision.
