Mark Anderson is a senior Spinifex man who was born in the central area of Spinifex. This painting is based around Ilkurlka, Tarantjara, Punpara, Kurumuntju, Wayara and Tuan. Ilkurlka is associated with the Kalaya (Emu) story that runs from up near Wiluna down through Spinifex and out to the north east. This painting also shows the rockholes to the east of Ilkurlka past Karnu where this story runs.
