In the Ngarrangkarni (Dreaming) a man went hunting with his two dogs. His dogs ran after a kangaroo but they never returned. Katie says the old man then sat at the top of a hill, high above Bow River (30 km north of Warmun). From up on top he called out for his dogs to come back. Because he waited so long he turned into a rock.

To this day he is still standing there, calling out for the dogs.

Both the dogs and kangaroo also turned into rocks.

The painting shows the man at the top of the hill.
