About Kirritji
Kirritji, which is a long way east of Patjarr Community, amongst spinifex country, is a rockhole site consisting of five rockholes. This place belongs to Nancy's Grandfather (Tjamu) who was called Pukulu, so it is family water for the artist. Tingarri* people passed through this site and killed a man here before heading further east to Yalankarra on the way to Tjukurla. *song cycle depicting the route of dreamtime people who travelled from the sea near Port Hedland to the northern part of the central desert. It also refers to the route and to the dreamtime people who followed that route. (Source: Ngaanyatjarra to English Dictionary; IAD Press).
