SoldAbout Piltati
This is Piltati Tjukurpa (the creation story of Piltati). Wati wanampi kutjara muna kunga kutjara (about two serpent men and two women). The sisters went out one day to dig for mayi and kuka (bush foods and meat). The wanampi travelled all over the country hiding inside the earth and playing tricks on the two women. The women dug many deep holes in the ground looking for snake meat, however the kuniya (python) they thought they were chasing was really one of the wanampi's in disguise. He was always one step ahead of the women. As they dug with their wana (wooden sticks) the wanampi slid deeper into the country. The women dug for many days. Their digging can still be seen as Piltati creek.
