Sally (Liki) Nanii Australian, Yulpartija, c. 1930-2016

Sally Liki was born in Kirriwirri and came into Bidyadanga as a young girl with her brother Meridoo in the 1960's. Her father took her away from her mother to take her to Bidyadanga, which was very sad for her. Her mother cried and didn't see Liki again. Later in her life Sally became a member of the Yulaprtija Artists From Bidyadanga and began painting her country. She exhibited widely and has work in the National Gallery of Victoria. Very sadly Liki had a stroke in 2007 and unfortunately was no longer able to paint. She passed away in 2016.
