Maryanne Ken Pitjantjatjarra, Yakunytjatjarra, b. 1995

Maryanne Ken is an artist following in her grandfather’s footsteps Ray Ken – celebrating Tali Tjukurpa (Sand dune country). Mary Anne is very much like her Tjamu (grandfather) Ray – a thoughtful and powerful presence in the Tjala Arts studio.

Maryanne’s paintings reflect her grandfather’s intimate knowledge of the landscape and reminisce on long journeys traversing the sand hills of his country as a stockman.
