Arthur Arthanasius Puruntatameri Tiwi, Australian, b. 1978
Since leaving school, Arthur has always had work. Past work includes Bathurst Island Housing and CDEP with the Shire Council.
Since starting with Ngaruwanajirri Arthur enjoys carving. He takes great pride making up his own ochre colours and his paintwork is beautifully applied.Carved heads and delightful birds are his subject matter as well as working with the other carvers to create large tutini (poles).
Arthur is known for his lively kookaburra carvings, known in Tiwi as "Jorrijorringa". Arthur also helps in the maintenance and upkeep of the centre.
