In this painng Tjimpayi Presley has depicted many rock holes where water collects aer the rains. These rock holes are an important source of water during the dry season when most of the water holes and creeks dry up. Water is an essential element in the desert.

Knowledge of rock hole sites is passed from generation to generation and revered by all Anangu (people) Pitjantjatjara. Tjimpayi Presley is the daughter of Kunmanara Tjampawa Kae Kawiny who was a Elder and senior painter at Tjala Arts. Tjimpayi paints on collaborative canvases with Naomi Kantjuriny and Mona Mitakiki. The ladies were taught to paint by senior artist

Kunmanara Kawiny. She has passed away now but the younger women and their granddaughters carry her story on for future generations.
