This work represents the two Tjukurpa stories that my clan possesses and must perpetuate. Though our old people all die too early, the song and story cycles are linked: they imply each other, they reflect and strengthen each other. They are represented in the two distinct pattern-forms in this work, but the work also displays an abstract idea of their closeness to each other. They depend on each other, just as all c lans and tribes need their neighbours in order to stand firm.
