Maureen Douglas Australian, Pitjantjara, b. 1966

Maureen was born in Amoonguna and grew up in Warburton. She later moved to Pipalyatjara and made batik, before moving to Amata where Maureen began painting her father's country and the anumara Tjukurpa (caterpillar Dreaming) at Tjala Arts.

Maureen is happy to be painting so that her two daughters can learn the stories and do the same thing when they are older, and one day when their children's children are born they can learn about their grandfather's country.
