In the Ngrrangkarni (Dreaming) an old woman sang out for her dog (Marranji, an old wild dingo) who had chased a kangaroo (jiyirriny) across the country known as Darragyn (Springvale Station)
The dog followed the kangaroo into a cave. That old woman was worried and followed the dog. She called the dog, but the kangaroo grabbed the dog when they were in the back of the cave and held him there. The woman burnt grass trying to find her dog, but never came out.
The old woman is the figure towards the top of the painting on top of the hill. The dog and the kangaroo are in the cave below.
The old woman and her dog are still there, in stone, in Mabel's country, Darrajayn (Springvale Station). This place is also called White Water.
