Gladys Anderson Australian, Waramungu, b. 1963

Gladys Anderson was born in Alroy Downs, near Barkly homestead, from Waramungu father and mother. As a child she moved to Rockhampton Downs for schooling before relocating to Tennant Creek where she had many jobs, including working in the kitchen of station and in a school. She then took up work at Julalikari arts (or Pink Palace) with Susannah Nelson and Lindy Brodie.

Her favourite subjects to paint are usually bush tuckers, ducks and crows. Whilst she was working at the school, she would occasionally drive the kids out bush to discover her country.
