Ju ngenanyji, (he takes things) that bowerbird now. Juj genanyji nungu dam yimelenhawuny ( he takes things , that one who steals). He grab all the money, silver. He steal 'em all the knife and fork. We call 'im stealing bird. He daan nhawiyangem (is in his home) . Well when he go la tree la konkerberry, inside he make 'em bat 'im (he makes a bower). that's him now. Daan Nhawiyangeny (In his home).

The bowerbird makes its bower inside the konkerberry bush. Juli has painted it inside its bower surrounded by the objects it has collected. It is known to Gija people as yimelenhawuny - that one that steals.

This particular stealing bird only collects white things, you can see his treasures represented by the white dots. The bowerbird's nest is hidden amongst rocks and trees. The two lines either side are rivers.
