When my mother was real little, she bin going with al the old women to go digging for water lilly. In this painting, youc an see the little holes at the bottom where they bin digging.
When you dig right down beneath the water lily to the roots, you ge this potato, it's real hairy, but good tucker.
Nearby that stone, it's a Ngarrangarni (Dreaming) stone and those old women used to talk to that stone. They been tell him what they want, what they need.
That stone's still there at Greenvale station - my mother's country.
