In Anangu culture the word "Milkali" blood is very sensitive word and can be used offensively but in this painting "Milkali Katju" means "one blood". It is about Indigenous and non Indigenous working along side one another and learning and sharing two different cultures. Ngapartji-ngapartji 50-50. I does not matter what colour or race we are, it is about what is below the surface. Milkali blood that we are there for one another and that life is to short to allow grey scales come between us as a culture. We can learn from one another. By moving forward, by closing the gaps, and by not blaming one another for our father's actions whether they were good or bad choices. In this painting you will see a lot of colours. Our mind will tell us what we only want to see but in this painting there is only two colours, black and white, and below the surface different shades of reds. When ever you look at this painting appreciate what we have because it is only for a short period of time.
