Betty depicts this painting as, `Thirringgenyji, like a Doomboony, some sort of owl, but different. Ngarranggarni (Dreamtime), when they been walkin’, you know, man and woman. When they been all together, that Garnkiny (moon) mob, woodpecker mob, every animal you know. In the Ngarranggarni, they all been lined up and split up. Garnkiny go to Springvale (Barlinyin), this one to Tickalara (Jaralun). This is that little rock in Tickalara – only a few feet high. In that cave, when time used to stop, when they been in creation, man and woman, they been blown out of this rock. They became animals, like these little Thirringgenyji. That little rock, still there. Today, there’s a little crack in the middle.' Thirringgenyji rock is in the centre of the painting and the two Thirringgenyji (Owlet Nightjar/small owl) stand on either side. Jaralun Country, or Tickalara Station, is the traditional country of Carrington’s husband, Patrick Mung Mung through his father George Mung Mung.
