Beverley has depicted her Grandfather's country along Purkitji (Sturt Creek) called Wirrilag. Boxer Milner was the traditional owner of this country and had an intricate knowledge of all facets of Purkitji. The many vertical lines indicate the channels of Purkitji and the dot work in between is the ground showing the different soil types. The circles represent Walkit Billabong and were described by Boxer as ‘milk water’ which is the colour the billabong turns as the creek flows during the wet season.
