This story is a very special story to me. That was a bore near Louisa Downs Station. The bore and tank was pulled there for my parents, they had to move from Chewnkey to Mirrjirloowa (Richardson Gorge) or Bullock Bore). A big story for old man, my dad. At our camp Chewnkey or 8 Mile, he built the fence across to stop the cattle bullocks going out. In the Muster and droving times, he used to go up and down to make sure the cattle stayed on one side of the fence. When I was a little boy I used to watch him go back and forth all day and half of the night, cattle coming from everywhere . There was no bore or windmill, so he would have to fill the trough full before the cattle come, standing filling up, standing filling up. Sometmes Mum would cook and when sat down to eat his dinner she would take over. When the trough was full just after we go out to catch Bush Turkey, he mad a soak to bring all the turkey in and we could catch them to have something to eat.
Then the men came form the station to find a bore for my parents so then we moved to Mirrijirloowa. That tank's got my drawings on it from when I saw the western movie with John Wayne, when I really started drawing.
