This is a painting such as the first generation artists from Papunya used to paint, without obscuring pattern or design. It too depicts the icons of women's ceremony in the desert backland, but using the old traditional colours, which were applied with ochre as body paint. The inscribed dancer thus becomes the art-work - quickening ancestral powers, dancing the world into new life.
