This is a pool ('yaga' in Bardi). It should be a round shape, Roy says, like the shape of the pool but Roy made it that shape because it looks beautiful that way. It is a pool, from back home, on Tree Island, near Sunday Island in Kings Sound. This is a big deep-water pool, when the tide is way out, all the fish are running with nowhere to go and they stay in this pool, with reef on all sides. We splash one end and all the fish swim to the other end and we can spear the fish and catch them, you can get however many you want, there are so many. The two centre circles of this Ilma depict the sandy bed at the bottom of the pool where air bubbles escape making rippled circles in the sand that expand and contract like the movement like a jellyfish. The outer two oval shapes with the pointy end depict coral.
Roy says, "My father has shown me these things, this pool must have been important to him when he was alive, meant something to him".
