Marie Brown has painted Kulyuru, the place where her father Cyril Brown was born. This is significant to Marie who has responsibilities for Kulyuru through birthright. Mr Brown always painted his country of Kulyuru which is a very special and beautiful rocky gorge area in the north part of Spinifex. At Kulyuru, a major convergence of the Seven Sisters story occurs. It is the place where the sisters finally trap the carpet python they are chasing and in turn one of the sisters is captured by the cheeky Nyiru, the lusty man who is after one of the sisters as a wife . In this Tjukurpa (dreamtime story) the sisters fly up into the sky and head towards Upurl Upulila Nguratja . The seven sisters along with Nyiru can be seen in the southern sky at night and are known as the Pleiades constellation.
