This painting depicts designs associated with the rockhole site of Mallarri, west of the Kiwirrkura Community in Western Australia. In ancestral times a large group pf women camped at this site to perform the ceremonies associated with the area before they continued their travels to the west. The roundels in the painting represent the rockhole at the site. During ttheir travels the women gathered the edible fruit pura (bush tomato) from the plant Solanum chippendalei, and mangata (quandong) from the small tree Santalum acuminatum.
