This work depicts a special ceremony held by women from certain subsection groups of the Luritja-Pintupi. As the ceremony is secret-sacred the artist can provide no further detail: but the outside eye will note the very obvious presence of life-giving water-snakes at the heart of the design, and also the arcs that denote lines, of women celebrants seated for the ceremony. The red ground connotes holy danger and the land's generative force.
