This painting depicts the happiness of the Kira Kiro who are very happy that the land is green and the rivers are full because of the wet season rains. This is a time for the Aboriginal people to hunt and go fishing. We collect bush yams and fruits. The Kira Kiro spirits ensures that the country is cared for so that Aboriginal people can hunt, fish and gather food. The spirits also make sure that Aboriginal people do not waste food. Aboriginal people understand that if they do take bush tucker, that they will share the food among their families and neighbours. The Kira Kiro are the protectors of the lands, rivers and seas. They assist the Wandjina in looking after sacred areas such as rock art sites and places where warriors are buried.
