Anna has painted Pinkalarta, the home where her mother grew up. It is located in the Great Sandy Desert near Joanna Springs on the Anna Plains station. This is where her grand mother died. Her work gives an aerial view of the landscape, showing the mayi (bush food) and the jila (living water). Anna is Yulparija and her mother was forced to leave her home when the water began to dry up. She moved to the coastal town of Bidyadanga, which is where Anna was born and grew up and as a result, her desert imagery is the traditional lands that she is a keeper of the stories for but it is expressed with the vibrant contrasts of the saltwater landscape.
