This painting is about the mingkiri, the little desert mouse. They only come out at night and they’re not scared of the moon. I used the hose like they move — fast, full of life. These mingkiri have strong Tjukurpa, and they’re friends with the moon. They share a secret night world. I see them, and I remember their story — how they run, how they live, how they teach us about courage and companionship.
