Kuru Ala is a special place, passed down to Heather by her mother Anmanari Brown. It relates to the Kungkarangkalpa tjukurpa.
Kungkarrangkalpa (Seven Sisters) is an important story that follows the journey of the Seven Sisters as they travel across the Western Desert. Throughout their journey they are pursued by Wati Nyiiru, an ancestral man who wishes to take the eldest sister as his wife. Using his powers to transform into different plants, animals and other forms, Wati Nyiiru repeatedly tries to deceive the sisters, but they continue their journey, creating many important places and landforms along the way.
Anmanari painted many different aspects of the story.
