My Grandparents, Mick Godfrey and Thelma Dixon ... when she was a teenager ... had only stayed on hill on left side of Robinson River. Took them to Woologorang. Song for Nanny Goat ... Kidikidi Warranya. I wanted to dance the Nanny Goat dance with my grandmother. Selma's paintings of Nanny Goats are inspired by her grandmother, Thelma Dixon. Thelma recalled happy times in her youth when she used to look after her family's herd of goats while her parents worked at Robinson River Station. This period inspired her paintings and prints of nanny goats, for which she was especially well known. Her favourite Garrwa songs were also about the nanny goats, kidikidi. Selma now paints her own memories of her grandmother, their family and station life. There are still Nanny
Goats at Robinson River today.
