Cork tree shield. This design belongs to my father, this is unique to him and I don't often design motifs on his carving. It is always different where you go, based in a different area. My father is from Bidyadanga. As well as a shield this is also used as an instrument and the men play it on the ground with the women dancing around. This is used as a base sound to set the tempo for the ceremonies.
