Winmirrina Country is my Stepfather and Stepgrandfather's Country, belonging to the Wadaliya Clan. This area is Mermaid and Star Dreaming Country. Europeans (nyubarya) call this country Calvert Hill. Winmirrina is where I grew up. 'When I was 9 years old, before I started ringing horses, I learned to ride a donkey. We used to go hunting and camping with my Stepfather and Stepgrandfather. We all had lots of work to do, mustering, feeding the stock. My Mum used to work on Calvert Hill Station, looking after the Nanny Goats, she was in charge.' We now live near Wandangnula Country, but still visit Winmirrina from time to time for fishing.'
