Tjawa Tjawa, or Point Moody is Pauline's mother's Country, renowned artist Bai Bai Napangarti (dec). Pauline's mother told her this story, many hundreds of women came on a long journey underground from Wilkinkarra (Lake Mackay, a huge salt lake far to the south of Balgo). The women arose at this place and rested before travelling on to Tjawa Tjawa. They brought with them their wanna, or digging sticks, also used for dancing (held upright to tap time). This dance is still performed today in memory of this great journey.
