This is my grandfathers's country, my fathers side. This is the country of the Piltati Tjukurpa; the wanampi tjukurpa. The two watersnakes story. There are many waterholes here. It is good country for food and water. Nyapari Community is close to the Piltati waterhole.
Anyupa Stevens is from Nyapari on the Anangu Pitjantjatjara/ Yankunytjatjara Lands, 350km South Easr of Uluru. Her mother, Tjanpuwa Stevens and her father, Keith Stevens are both established painters painting at Tjungu Palya. Her paternal grandmother is the well known artist from Tjungu Palya, the late Kun. Stevens.
