In the desert Lasseter going into the desert north of Docker River and Blood Range, other side of the lake. And there was two woman, two wives, husband sleeping with his two wives who were talking story to each other next to the fire in camp. Lasseter didn't know they was there. They was hiding behind the bush. And they didn't know that Lasseter's coming. They had never seen camel or white fella or Lasseter before. Lasseter saw all of them, and later told Aboriginal people he befriended about the story of encountering the family way out in the desert.

My grandfather been tell me this when we moved back to his Country round Docker River [1968]. He live there all his life. He was already husband, father. Life was good there — Petermann Ranges... Everyone camp out all the time. All naked. All live in family groups and visit each other across the country. Everywhere group come together for good hunting — Sorry Business — ceremony — celebrations... and then they go back home. They see smoke over there — know family over there, so go visit. Might camp together for overnight, or little while, then back home again. All moving around that Country [Petermann Ranges] back and forth. They follow kapi and bush foods.

I always tell my grandfather 'tell me a story about Lasseter'. It was good memories for him and I enjoyed him telling me the stories.

Kele, that's all.
