There is a significant site near Mimili community where Sandra is from that women go to to collect witchetty grub(maku). The site is connected to ancestor sisters who sang traditional songs (inma) at this site and hit the rocks with sticks and many witchetty grubs came from the ground. The painting is like a topographical map depicting the country, the songlines, the hill where witchetty grub is found and a special culturally significant location for women. "I grew up in Mimili with my grandparents and mum. I grew up around these areas out bush & down the lines of family, I was taught so much with the story lines. It is important for us to teach the kids our storylines; and my paintings are to teach".
