Joe has depicted a story about two brothers, an elder brother and his younger brother, they were kodjokkodjok living at Gamarrkawam a place called Marnamarnayi. They went to get bamboo spears over at Kakadu somewhere near Jim Jim waterfall. They got lots of spears and went back where they lived. On the way home the younger brother saw a djorrkon (a possum) in a rock cave and speared it for dinner. They got two sticks and rubbed them together and made a fire to cook the possum. But they cooked the possum for to long and its eyes burst open. Then they saw a small cloud starting to make rain. And then it started raining until the ground got soft and they saw the rainbow serpent coming from under the ground. Ngalyod the rainbow serpent was angry that the brothers hadn't cooked the possum properly and dragged them underground where a big creek was. The brothers turned into burarr (water goannas)
