Current viewing_room
Fregon is a remote Indigenous community located in the APY Lands of South Australia, known for its rich cultural heritage and vibrant artistic scene. The artists from Fregon, now known as Kaltjiti, create stunning artwork that reflects their deep connection to country and traditional culture. Their artwork is characterised by bold colours and intricate designs that reflect the beauty of their surroundings.
The Kaltjiti artists create from their community art studio which sit within the heart of the community, where they have access to resources and support to hone their craft. Through their art, these talented individuals not only express themselves creatively but also preserve and share their unique cultural narratives with the world. The Kaltijiti artists have reached international fame with senior artists such as Witjiti George and with a growing group and mid and emerging career artists whose work is carrying in the strong and sweeping traditions of this incredible arts community.
