The diverse landscape that is the APY Lands has produced an exceptional array of artists whose paintings show a virtuosity and indisputable connection to art and culture. The APY men are highly respected for their cultural knowledge and this knowledge is echoed in their art practice. Today Short St Gallery is Spotlighting a selection of male artists from this region who strive to tell the story of their culture and history through art. Each artist possesses an unmistakable visual language that integrates the landscape of the APY Lands, their cultural wisdom and lived experiences, into extraordinary art.

Many of the artists featured also use art as a vehicle to pass their knowledge on to the younger APY community and the greater culture at large.
