SPOTLIGHT ON HUMAN GAGS: TOMOFOOLERY FROM THE BUNGALOW

Human Gag's is a series of artworks by Stephen Eastaugh that probe and provoke the absurdity of being a human in the 21st century. This vignette is a playful irreverent look at modern life, where the joke is on us but we are in on it.

Stephen Eastaugh, 'Human Gags show bizarre views reflecting on the human inability to operate peacefully on our pretty little blue planet. I imagine aliens in a distant galaxy justifiably making bad jokes about how pathetic, greedy, violent and stupid we seem to be. I picture aliens sitting at a bar many light years from Broome drinking fluorescent orange toxic cocktails while laughing, screaming and swapping interstellar xenophobic jokes'.

Stephen Eastaugh has presented over one hundred solo exhibitions and one hundred group exhibitions in Australia and internationally, he is represented in major public galleries and institutions in Australia, including the National Gallery of Australia, the National Gallery of Victoria, Parliament House in Canberra, and in numerous private collections across the planet.

We invite you to take a moment to enjoy the wild, weird and wonderful artworks that are Human Gags; a mind bending series of laugh out loud moments, where the artworks are winking back at you.
