I used to travel on the road and see all the red and black flowers on the side. I told my parents to stop so I can see the flowers. It's a different shape, with the red and black flowers and green leaves. I asked what it's for and my mother said it's desert flower, mai (food) for kangaroos.
I've liked it since I was a young child. I saw an old photo of my grandmother holding the flower and I've always liked it.
