Christy Young Australian, Ngaanyatjarra, b. 1982

Christy Young is one of Tjala’s most promising emerging artists. Christy’s natural affinity for painting and drawing stems from her impressive family lineage of esteemed artists and cultural leaders.Christy’s Mother, Yaritji Young, is a significant Australian artist, senior law woman and traditional owner of the country around Amata community. Christy’s grandparents Kumanara (Mick) Wikilyiri and (Kumanara) Paniny Mick are both important cultural leaders and artists who have influenced the current APY art movement.
