Marcia Thompson b. 1970

Marcia's mother was photographed with her two sisters, all in their early20's the day they saw 'whitefellas' for the first time. They were living atraditional nomadic life in the heart of Spinifex Country when the Britishatomic testing of the 50's and 60's destroyed life as they knew it and theywere moved into the mission at Cundeelee. Marcia was born in Kalgoorlieas babies were not birthed at the mission, but at the nearest hospital.Today Marcia spends her time divided between her two homes;Tjuntjuntjara in the Great Victoria Desert and Kalgoorlie some 700kms to the southwest.
