Nita Williamson Australian, Pitjatjatjara, b. 1963

Nita lives in Amata and has been painting since 2004. Her mother was Kunmanara Ruby Williamson, a highly regarded painter and Nita worked collaboratively with her mother throughout her career.

Nita learned from her mother different ways of mark-making, creative designs and Tjukurpa. Similarly to Kunmanara Ruby Williamson, Nita paints with a contemporary style. Her imagery is distinctly modern in its ideas, perspective and application. Nita uses the perfect combination of quaint designs of the 'honey grevillea' with unreserved, bold colour palettes.
