KUTJUNGKARINYI : COME TOGETHER: SIGNIFICANT WORKS FROM AMATA

15 July - 11 August 2022

The magic of creatives coming together to share knowledge and technique has long been a stalwart of the women of Amata. Their intricate and absorbing paintings have a synergy that brings together not only the artist’s diverse range of styles and colour palettes but also their shared creation stories and connection to country. Short St Gallery invites you to share in the magic of these special collaborative works in Kutjungkarinyi : Come Together.

We are honoured to present artworks from the estate of Mrs W Burton alongside the newly established Burton Women’s Collaborative. The Burton Women’s Collaborative features several generations of the Burton family who have watched and learnt from this master of form and storytelling and are now carrying on her traditions. These significant and special artworks are supported by paintings by the Tjala Women Collaborative and the Mitakiki Women’s Collaborative, alongside stellar artwork from Janie Lewis, Marissa Munti, Angela Burton and Muna Kulyuru.
